Outreach Events

There are many ways to get involved and help the community with fellow parishionners here at Old St. Paul’s. Check out the many outreach activities planned for this Fall.

Day of Service

Saturday, October 5, 9:00 a.m. to Noon. Join friends from Old St. Paul’s (and others from around the city) for a day of service when volunteers will work with an organization called Civic Works to do projects like cleaning up a park or playground, and painting a school. RSVP to mark@stpaulsbaltimore.org

Casserole Making in the Rectory

The Outreach Committee is looking for volunteers to help make casseroles in the rectory for Our Daily Bread on Sunday October 6 after the 10:00 a.m. service. This event is lot of fun and for a good cause since Our Daily Bread (725 Fallsway just blocks from our church) provides over 600 lunches every day. Typically, the cooking is done by 1:00 p.m. If you would like to help, contact Anne Monroe, annekmonroe@yahoo.com, since space is limited. “For I was hungry, and you gave me food”- Matthew 25:32

Serving at Our Daily Bread

We are looking for volunteers to serve lunch at Our Daily Bread on 9 am – 1 pm on Saturday, November 2. Age requirement: Volunteers must be at least 14 years old. Those who are 14 must come with an adult. 15 and older may come without an adult. This volunteering requires being able to stand and move around for the scheduled time and to stay for the entire shift. Contact Carol Sholes carolsholes@verizon.net if you are interested.

Casserole Drive in November

If you like to cook and are looking for a way to help your neighbors in need, making casseroles for Our Daily Bread is perfect for you! Our Daily Bread, Maryland’s largest hot meal program, serves 600+ lunches each day, and depends on volunteers like us to make it happen. This is an easy way to get involved in helping the displaced and hungry in Baltimore. From November 3 through November 17, simply pick up a FREE casserole pan (recipe included) at the back of the church on Sundays, make the casserole, and return the dish on Sunday morning where it can be stored in the church freezer before being delivered to Our Daily Bread. Catherine Brill will be there on Sunday mornings to help you find the freezer for your delivery. If you have any questions, please contact Catherine Brill at cubrill@comcast.net

Diaper Drive

You can make a difference in a family’s life by donating to this year’s Diaper Drive which will begin on December 1. As in past years, we are working through the Baltimore organization Sharebaby. Contact Outreach Chair Anne Monroe (annekmonroe@yahoo.com) for more information. This Christmas, as we celebrate the birth of our Savior who was born in trying circumstances, let us remember the children in need among us today.
